Hurricane Dorian had nothing on Parker and Jason as we headed into the first weekend of September. We were unsure of what the weather would bring on Saturday but all the prayers, crossed fingers, and burying the bourbon worked because slow moving Dorian decided not to even bother showing up in Central Virginia. So with the sun shining on this warm summer day, we began shooting at the lovely property of Alvis Farm at Slate Creek. This family owned and operated cattle farm is the perfect place to get married, with multiple beautiful locations for ceremony and reception, and a house for both the guys and the girls to get ready in.
Parker decided to get married under the trees on the hill overlooking the rolling hills of Scottsville. In true farm fashion, the seats were hay bales covered with quilts. When Parker told me she was going to have a quick ceremony, I excepted the normal 10-15 minute ceremony. But let me tell you, this ceremony broke records! It was maybe 5 minutes total, including the processional. I barely had enough time to move from side to side before the officiant said” you may kiss the bride”! Can all weddings be the quick?!
As the guest went down to cocktail hour and begin placing orders for their drinks at The Watering Hole, we stayed to dig up the Bourbon Parker and Jason buried one month prior to the wedding. While we were up on the hill, we used this alone time to grab a few formal portraits. Then we headed down to the tent to get ready for introductions. The bridal party walked in with shot of Fireball and the father of the bride delivered a very sweet welcome speech and ended with a Cheers!
Dinner consisted of multiple food stations that were absolutely amazing, including shrimp and grits, a burger station, and chicken and waffles. For desert they had not 1 cake, but 4 from Shyndigz and a milk and cookie bar! AMAZING and DELICIOUS!!
Their guests partied and danced hard. Parker changed into the cutest reception dress and danced her heart out all night long. The ended the party with a sparkler exit to cap off such a great party.
I truly wish Jason and Parker the best life together! They are such a great couple and deserve nothing but the best! Congratulations!!!
Thank you to all the amazing vendors who made this day perfect for Jason and Parker!
