Hey there, I’m Ashley.

From growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, to moving to Kentucky (for college and horses), to a quick year in DC, I never would have thought I’d be living in Richmond, Virginia. But, I have quickly found out that Central Virginia is an awesome place to live. With the beach two hours to the east, the mountains two hours to the west, the nation’s capital two hours north, and endless wineries and breweries nearby, who wouldn’t love it here?

I live in Richmond with my best friend and husband, Casey, and our 200lb fur baby, Louie, an English Mastiff. I graduated from Murray State University in 2011 with a bachelors degree in Animal Health Technology and a minor in Equine Science. I have been a Licensed Veterinary Technician specializing in horses up until early 2021 when I decided to go back to school to pursue a career change to human medicine. I will be applying for PA school this spring in the hopes to become a Physician Assistant in the near future. In my spare time I am usually riding horses, planning my next vacation, or spending time with my boys. I am a total foodie and love trying new places to eat. We never eat at the same place twice. I absolutely love to travel and explore new places. Whether it’s a day trip by car, a weekend get away by plane, or weeks long trip on a boat, I will always be ready to go.

My passion for photography began in high school where I started shooting film and developing in the dark room. While in college, I bought a small digital camera where I mainly photographed horses and my fellow riders at horse shows. After graduation, moving to Washington DC, and having to grow up (and pay the bills), I knew I had to make a change. That’s when I decided to pick up my camera and begin photographing people and their events. It started with a simple engagement session for a coworker. Not expecting much, I showed the bride-to-be her photos. To my surprise, she loved the photos and asked me to be her wedding photographer! Wow, who would have thought? For the next year I did everything I could to learn the “ins and outs” of wedding photography. Since then, I have learned so much from many wonderful mentors, made lasting friendships, and continue to learn and become a better photographer.

My goal as a photographer is to capture all of life’s moments and make them into memories that last a lifetime. I believe in returning as many images as possible to you, since after all, they are your memories. I strive to build lasting relationships with my clients to capture all of life’s events. My style is simple, natural, and tailored made to each session to bring out the true colors of the individuals in front of the camera. And since I love to travel, you wouldn’t have to ask me twice to go with you to wherever your next adventure takes place!

I can’t wait to hear from you and help capture your special memories!
